Yanks Win, Posada Catches


Jorge Posada caught his first game of the spring today and added 2 hits and a run, in the Yankees Win over the Minnesota Twins.

Ramiro Pena picked up two hits on the day, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Angel Berroa went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI. He is now hitting .438 this spring.

Melky Cabrera also went 1 for 2 with a double, a walk and 2 runs scored.

Mark Texiera and Matsui each had RBIs in the game.

Andy Pettitte was sharp today and threw 3 scoreless innings, giving up 2 hits and striking out 1.

Phil Coke came into the game and pitched 3 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 2.

Jose Veras, Anthony Claggett and Steven Jackson each threw scoreless innings to finish the game.

The Yankees play the Phillies tomorrow at 1:15 at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Joba Chamberlain will take the mound and hope to improve on his last start.
